All ‘in the flesh’ classes are paused.
Zoom Yoga occurs on Thursday at 6.30pm. For a description of this class please see the Generative Yoga blurb below. It costs $15 or you can employ a visit from your class pass to attend.
Zoom Meditation occurs on Monday at 8pm. I approach meditation as a journeying inwards and an expanding outwards. It is a mode to integrate thoughts, feelings and sensations as well as the ability to become aware of the subtle layers of experience and our intimacy with life and our fundamental reality as life. This 45 minute session will include a warm up/ground down sequence, a guided introduction, then a silent meditation, followed by discussion. You can pay anything from $10 to $15, or employ a visit from your class pass to attend.
Please email me your bank transfer receipt (account details – NAME: Simone Schmidt BSB: 06 3105 ACCT: 1008 4658) or notify me that you are employing a visit from your class pass at least 3 hours before the session commences to book your place. After I receive your booking/payment I will send you an email with the zoom invite. I will open the zoom session at least 15 minutes before we are scheduled to begin the class so feel free to drop in earlier to have a chat.
I am excited to build a virtual community where we can come together, embodied and connected, with the shared intention to practice.
This class builds on the foundation of hatha (physical) yoga with creative, intuitive sequencing aligned to the natural fluidity and pulsation of the body. It can be adjusted to be more strong and dynamic, or more gentle and restorative, depending on how you are feeling and where you are in your practice. It is suitable for beginners to advanced students. At the end of the class there is at least 5 minutes seated meditation.
A common misconception is that in order to do yoga one needs to be ‘super flexible’. This is not the case. Be kind and gentle to your body and it will open in its own time and way. Yoga is designed to support, strengthen, soften and expand your body in the ways that it needs. So rather than trying to push your body to reach a ‘perfect’ form, yoga should be tailored to suit how you need to be at any moment in time. It is a journey of intimate, intuitive inquiry, rather than one of trying to reach a preconceived, ideal goal.
Yoga is a way of life, rather than a quick fix. Regular yoga practice (at least one studio visit per week combined with home practice) is recommended to receive the benefits of yoga to body and mind.
No bookings required, but if you are a new student please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class so I can register your details. I supply mats, but feel free to bring your own.
