Wishing for Simplicity

Wishing life could be simple

Stone, water, earth, tree

Animal and human in harmony

But everything is shutting down

Tension is rising

And my mother’s isolated and singing from a balcony

My teacher says complexity is simplicity in the right cup

I must have the wrong cup

It’s too full, and nothing holds – everything is spilling over the edges

I have no words of wisdom

Except crying is a release
